Dental Braces

Our experts can enhance your smile with a variety of braces options

Braces are the most widespread and common form of treatment for fixing misaligned teeth in the world. Braces can be worn by all ages and are an orthodontic method used to correct uneven and crooked teeth.

Braces consist of an amalgamation of brackets and wires that are affixed to the front of the teeth. The brackets are designed to grip the teeth and the wires are tightened and loosened accordingly to move the teeth to the anticipated position Dr. Chapala & Associates ensures that the final alignment of teeth is perfect for each individual to assure that they get the results they desire.

The length of treatment varies greatly and depends on a number of factors including the age of the patient, amount of teeth needing to be moved and the overall health of the patient. Treatment time varies from a few months to years, with older patients’ treatment being longer due to their denser jaw bone, which takes the teeth longer to move.

Braces are a beneficial treatment for all ages and can realign the teeth, despite initial severe misalignment. It is recommended that children only commence the braces treatment when all of their teeth are permanent, generally around the age of 7 or 8. Despite the need for adults to wear braces for longer, the final result is always as effective.

Metal Braces

The most common types of braces applied by Dr Chapala & Associates are metal braces. They are made of hospital-grade stainless steel, and are comprised of metal brackets that will be bond to your teeth and hold the archwire in place. The archwire guides your teeth into place and is adjusted throughout your treatment. Frequently children and teenage patients choose their favourite colour of elastic bands to enhance the pressure applied by the braces and to bring colour and fun to their braces treatment experience.
